While you're on call, you can utilize some option available. One of them is the option to switch the microphone off to mute the call.

How to mute the call?
To do so, kindly follow the steps listed below:
  1. While you're on an active call, tap Mute icon.
  2. The Mute icon now appears green which means the microphone is turned off. Now, the person you call will not be able to hear your voice.
  3. Tap the Mute icon again to turn on the microphone. The Mute icon now appears gray which means the microphone is turned on and the person you call will be able again to hear your voice.

By knowing how to switch the microphone on or off, now you can set it according to your need. For instance, when you don't want the person on the phone hearing your voice when you wish to say something to other person in the room, then you can switch the microphone off. So, hope this helps :)
