Samsung Galaxy S5: How to Enable and Use Easy Call and Easy Text Features in Android 4.4.2 Kitkat

By default, while you're viewing your contacts list, you can easily call or send a message to a particular contact simply by swiping it to the right or to the left. Since it's not a new feature, some of you may have seen or used this feature in other Samsung Galaxy phones. The different is now you're provided with an option which will let you enable or disable this feature.

How to enable or disable easy call and easy text features?
You can do so by using the following steps:
  1. Open Phone app.
  2. Tap or long press the Recent apps key to open up the additional options and then select Settings.
  3. Tap Contacts.
  4. Depending on your current settings, tap Swipe to call or send msg to enable or disable this option. When the checkbox next to this option is checked means the easy call and easy text features are enabled.

How to use easy call and easy text features?
Assuming that you have enabled this feature, then you can use it to make a call or send a message with more easily from your contacts list. See the following steps to do so:
  1. Open Phone app.
  2. Tap Logs or Favourites or Contacts tab.
  3. Making a call with easy call feature:
    • Find the required contact you want to make a call to.
    • Swipe the contact from left to the right to call the contact.
  4. Sending a message with easy text feature:
    • Find the required contact you want to send a message to.
    • Swipe the contact from right to the left to start writing a message to the contact.
    • Send the message when you have finished writing it.

I personally prefer to keep this feature on since for me it's easier to swipe the contact to make a call or send a message while I'm viewing my contacts list than if I have to tap the contact and then tap the small make-a-call/send-message icons. At the first time use you will probably swipe to a wrong direction, but the more you use this feature the less you do the wrong swipe.

Samsung Galaxy S4: How Turn Off Notifications Sound During Calls in Android 4.4 Kitkat

Today an insider sent me an email and asked me how to disable notifications sound while she was on an active call. She said that the notifications sound really disturbed her and it became worse when she was wearing headset. The sound interrupted her conversation because it made her check her phone instinctively and in some cases it also made her difficult to hear clearly the person she was speaking with. Well, if you have the same problem with her, then you can fix it by setting the phone to silence the notifications sound when you have an alarm or a new message during call.

How to turn off in-call notifications sound?
There are two methods available that you can use to disable notifications sound while you're in an active call, through the Settings menu and through Phone app.
